Memory Flowers
Blue flowers of remembrance
Blue flowers scattered across the world, each holding a memory and a voice left behind by someone.
How It Works
Memory Flowers are blue blossoms found on the map. Come close and they reveal an echo of a person or an event. They do not grow from nothing: some memories refuse to fade with time, and are polished bright again by day after day of longing until they condense into a flower and gather into a lingering note in the heart.
Petals can be gathered into a whole bloom: six surviving petals can be turned into one complete Memory Flower, and collecting enough of them raises your maximum HP. What the flower holds is mostly a voice—a monologue, a short verse, or a line that trails off without an answer.
Flowers and People
- Inanis: "Not all memories are meant to be forgotten." Listen to the voice within the flower; it may prove helpful on this journey.
- Bai Chilian: Forest reflects forest, mirror reflects mirror. On every side she sees only her own reflection, with no path out of a prison where day and night blur into one.
- The Gilded Lotus proprietress: She gathers secrets, plays on hearts consumed by anger and obsession, and wants nothing more than her daughter's safety.
- Stone Hand Iron Fever: Inherit the legacy, carry on the purpose, win the sect a place in the Wulin—it should have become a hundred years of glory. "At least, that is how it was supposed to be."
- The Mandate masters: Someone must be willing to burn what remains of themselves, if only to kindle a ray of dawn that pierces the darkness.
- Firefly: The catastrophe began in the gloom deep within the Discordance, and now hides behind a "Rift" in the Waking Realm.
- Villagers of Lu: Maskwalkers can destroy this land, and the Mandate can withdraw—but those raised here cannot abandon their homeland, or the kin who may never wake.
- Wulin fighters: Some hold fast to the past; others have had their pride ground down and cast their weapons aside. Without a fight to the death, there is only descent.
- Bai Xue'er: Her childhood friend returns bloodied and dust-stained. She would never mistake him for anyone else, and keeps talking of the old days to prove nothing has changed in two years.
- The Lion Dance Grandmaster: The lion's head rises, gathering power to banish evil. Yet today evil wears human skin, and instead of fleeing the hall it has taken a seat at the feast.
- Mandate leaders: The day evil arts swept the encampment like a plague, the blades pointed at them were held by their own kin and fellow disciples.
- Seven Stars disciples: They watched the Mandate's leadership tear a pair of lovers apart and destroy a person. Hatred spread from that moment, and "Transcension" became fuel for revenge.
- The Twin Heroes: "What kind of righteousness is this? Whose?" If a righteous path truly exists, they should walk one of their own.
- Huangxing: A pillar of the Mandate, slayer of countless foes—in the end, no more than a pawn in the struggles of those above. Who in this world is not a pawn?
- Yu'er: Do not shed tears before them. Tears expose helplessness and blur the last hopes she has left.
- The three-faced puppet: What would "three souls as one" look like? Lost in thought, she sews the doll crooked—yet two more heads make it seem just right.
- Old Man Gen: The most extraordinary thing he ever did was brave the plague to reach Pangzhen and carry the Armored Carriage through the snow. Given a choice, he would rather stay by his wife's side.
- Xuan Li: A conversation with Zuo Shang is like being invited to watch a game, with the struggle between Loong and Blight laid out before his eyes.
Notes
The Seven Stars flower is converted from six surviving petals, each of the six juniors leaving only a subtitle. Two other flowers preserve nothing but a heading—"I. The Mandate's Decision" and "II. Own Decision"—with no text beneath them.
