Main Route
The story moves region by region, and each region is recorded as an achievement milestone:
- The Main Road — escape the pursuers
- The Outpost — pass through
- The Cave Behind the Waterfall — step out of it
- Mirror Forest — see through its illusion
- Lu Family Village and Pang Town — leave one, enter the other
- The Order's Tavern — pass through it
- Green Snake House — solve the snake-head mechanism
- The Grand Drill Ground — investigate it
- Mirror Flower, Water Moon — arrive
- Lake Heart — cut it open
- Dreamplay Manor — cross it
- The Blizzard and the Cliff Top — walk into the snow and climb

Factions
- The Order — runs a tavern; its young master is Mu Xiaokui
- Kunlun — the apostate Huangxing came from it
- The Blackwater Crew — active around Plum Valley Lake, led by You Long, with the qin player Yan Qiansui and a one-eyed archer
Progression
- Tempering — upgrade weapons and Phantom Edge gear
- Sha-Chi Amber, Memory Flower, Blackstone — collectible resources
- Accessories — a separate equipment slot
