Senior Mo

Senior Mo was second-in-command of the Lion Dance Hall, under Grandmaster Flame, and handled much of the troupe's business. The yearly lion dance at the Mirage Estate was arranged with him first; he was the one who said that without the troupe's lion dance to drive off evil and bring blessing, the wealthy merchants would not feel at ease in their trade.

He sensed something wrong at the Mirage Estate, and having heard that Transcension had plagued the Wulin for years, he asked Flame to hold the hall and took a band of disciples up to see for himself. The New Year's Eve feast ran long past midnight, and he had not returned.

In the estate he found every guard asleep and turned to wooden puppets, Patron Gao among them; the things surrounded the manor and killed everyone on the spot, and he could only shout at Flame to get out. When the bells stirred the Sha-Chi, Flame lost control; Leng Tu kept them both alive by Perfect Transcension, but sealed them beneath the lion skin, forever asleep.

He danced the lion with Flame, one at the head and one at the tail. Long after the hall fell derelict, Flame was woken and danced with him again on the burning Plum Blossom Stakes; the two sealed their own meridians to hold down the killing urge, and wait for the one who comes to pluck the green.
