Jade Dancer
the Young Mistress's Guardian
A woman who rides a Fiend Saw blade on each foot, swift as lightning, and guards and teaches Mu Xiaokui alongside Iron Fiend.
The Woman
A woman of cold face, a Fiend Saw blade under each foot; she drives the twin blades with supple legs, her movement like lightning.
She was an orphan, saved from peril by the Shadow Sovereign, and has stayed with the Order ever since.
Combat
The blades wheel with the swing of her legs, her cuts unmatched; there is no hesitation in her rise and fall, closing in and pulling away in a single breath.
Together with Iron Fiend she trains the Young Mistress and shares the duty of guarding her, the two working as one.
With the Young Mistress
The young mistress called her "Sister" and said she would be her family, and something tender took root in a heart that had always been cold. The duty of a guard soon became a care and loyalty that came from the bone. On the training ground she is iron; off it she patiently teaches the girl to press the right points and ease the ache in her ankles. Every gift from the Young Mistress she keeps in silence, and the days she has spent at the girl's side may even outlast those of the Shadow Sovereign.
After old Sovereign Mu passed, undercurrents rose in the Order and the Wulin was full of sudden turns. No one knows better than she how heavy the load on the Young Mistress's shoulders is, and more than the Order's fortunes she fears for the girl's life.
