Accessory Fragments

Each accessory was broken into parts, and each part is listed on its own: the Preservation Talisman split into upper and lower halves, the Remnant Spark Cube into tenon and mortise, the medicine pot and the Guardian Idol into four pieces apiece, and the Nuo mask into Joy, Wrath, and Sorrow. Fragments from the same object have edges that meet, and their names carry either a numeral (I, II) or the part itself: lid, chain, handle, body.

Only the paired talisman states an effect: joined with its upper half, it reduces poison damage. The other groups leave behind nothing but the look of the fragment, and the person the fragment remembers.

• Preservation Talisman Fragment I: The upper half of a talisman cleanly severed by a sharp blade, its cut edge still stained with grease and blood. Its former owner appears to have been a greedy merchant who used cheap tricks to deceive his customers; the butcher merely gave him what he deserved.
• Preservation Talisman Fragment II: The lower half. Its clean break bears witness to the swift, decisive stroke that severed it. When reunited with the upper half, it reduces poison damage.
• Medicine Pot Fragment: Lid: A pot lid fired from coarse clay, shaped like a knotted root and rough to the touch.
• Medicine Pot Fragment: Chain: An almost intact iron chain, used to suspend the pot over a fire.
• Medicine Pot Fragment: Handle: A broken, root-shaped handle, long since permeated with the bitter scent of medicinal herbs.
• Medicine Pot Fragment: Body: Her fate was much like this medicine pot: suspended by iron chains over the fire, never to be freed.
• Guardian Idol Fragment: Head: The head of the idol, eyes still wide with fury. It once witnessed its worshippers seek the Way through martial discipline, and then watched one of them raise a stone against it with trembling hands.
• Guardian Idol Fragment: Arm: Members of the Mandate once laid a hand upon this arm to swear their oaths. Later, those very same hands shattered it.
• Guardian Idol Fragment: Torso: The fractured edges have long since been worn smooth. No one knows how many hands have picked it up, only to cast it aside again.
• Guardian Idol Fragment: Leg: Through the endless terror of the Maskwalkers, these legs never once gave ground. In the end, even they could not hold up the people's collapsing resolve.
• Remnant Spark Cube Fragment: Tenon: A broken tenon covered in twisted dents and gouges, resembling the scraps left behind after something has been gnawed away.
• Remnant Spark Cube Fragment: Mortise: A metal fragment with strangely angled folds. Held in the hand, a distant hum seems to echo from it.
• Nuo Mask Fragment: Joy: Three thousand guests feast behind vermilion gates, hosts and guests alike wearing smiling masks. When the feast ends, they unmask in search of old friends, only to find they have forgotten their own true faces.
• Nuo Mask Fragment: Wrath: From the high platform, cries of rebuke thunder without cease; crimson jaws and bared fangs howl through the endless night. Who knew the fire raised to purge evil would first scorch the heart that kindled it?
• Nuo Mask Fragment: Sorrow: Three stacks of paper offerings weep in the wind; a lone lamp shines upon the desolation. Forever mourning the lives and deaths of others, one looks back only to find one's own bereavement forgotten.

The five groups belong to the Preservation Talisman, the medicine pot, the Guardian Idol, the Remnant Spark Cube, and the Nuo mask. The mask stops at Sorrow; no fourth piece appears.
