Forge

Forge is an artisan under Inanis, and smithing is her craft. She is loud and blunt: her first look at Soul earns the verdict that he is a plain-looking man to have once stood as a Shadow Edict beside Inanis.

She and her sisters Jewel and Myst are triplets. She arrived a moment before the other two and has claimed the title of eldest ever since. She counts herself apart from those who know nothing but killing.

She forged Soul two replicas of Sanguine, one long and one short. The long blade takes both hands and sweeps whole ranks aside; the paired short blades fall like rain, quicker than anything else. The Sanguine he carries, chosen for him by the former Shadow Sovereign, is worn and old, she says — the copy beside it is his to take.

To sharpen a blade further, bring her forged metal and solvent. Her one instruction: if a famed weapon crosses his path, take it.

She waits at Weeping Creek on Inanis's orders and passes on the warning: the Left Sovereign has issued a writ, and every ranking hand in the Wulin is to kill Soul. Why Inanis helps him is not hers to explain — she has her reasons; the sisters only obey.

Of the ornament the three sisters made between them, the metal loops were her work. She found it cumbersome, and in the end it went to Soul.
