A woman of Pangzhen and Zhou Pingzi's beloved. Her soul was displaced, and she sat on the inn roof repeating his name until a letter brought him back to her.
Who She Is
Yu Ling is a woman of Pangzhen and Zhou Pingzi's beloved. She calls him Senior Brother Zhou; by her account he has no martial skill at all.
What Happened
On the roof of Pangzhen's inn she repeats Senior Brother Zhou over and over, her wits gone, knowing no one. Soul puts Zhou Pingzi's letter into her hands, and she remembers him.
She says she meant to save him and get him out, but could not remember him and could not find him. Now she means to go to him — he cannot fight, so this time she will be the one to protect him.
Ties
Zhou Pingzi climbed the Mountain of Imprisonment to pray for her, and left a letter addressed to her: It was I who was useless... if there is another life, may I become a hero, fearless even in a hundred deaths, asking only to protect you.
The letter is carried down from the mountain by other hands and reaches Pangzhen, and comes to rest with her. Reading it, she remembers that she had meant to go and save him.
