A healer who has made the backstreets of Pangzhen his domain, his face covered by a mask adorned with copper coins.
His skill far outstrips his peers, and the Transcended flock to him for it; but the Sha-Chi his cures consume is far more than ordinary deranged healers take.
Methods
Under cover of his practice he lures in Transcended women of the Baishan Sect and drains them of Sha-Chi in the backstreets, then hands a little of that stolen power to a few desperate souls for a few more days of breath.
Those he heals hail him as the greatest physician of the age; few ever notice the piles of Transcended dead.
Background
His master's ruin proved that a benevolent healer rarely comes to a good end, and his junior Xie Xiaorong's obscurity proved that hard study need not bring renown. Together they became his excuse for wasted years and a calling that never came.
Then Perfect Transcension spread through Pangzhen, and his chance to turn his fortune arrived. The coins on his mask jingle as he drinks in the sweet Sha-Chi; he gave those wretches life, and so he alone decides who lives and who dies.
