The Object
A broken piece of jade that goes by the name "Hero's Courage", looking somewhat clouded.
Origin
Many hold that jade has a spirit of its own, growing purer day by day when steeped in loyalty, courage, rightness and kindness; the truer the air around it, the clearer the stone.
Why this shard stayed clouded, no one can say.
