Sundering Dual Axes

A pair of short axes, one to each hand, blades short enough to be dangerous. They were Heartpiercer's own, and in his hands the two wheels spun with his footwork, the attack never quite ending.

The shorter the blade, the greater the peril, and all of the axes' killing is done at arm's length. Standard combos build [Baleful Aura]; once it fills, damage and Sha-Chi Depletion rise together and the combos hurl the axes outright, latching onto the enemy and cutting continuously — distance stops mattering at that moment.

The aura runs on a timer and empties when it ends, so the window has to be spent at once. Drag it out and everything built beforehand is wasted.

The active art has exquisite poise and vicious intent, and it cannot be blocked; landed after a guard break, it uses the aura window to the last drop.

• Active | Tiansha Reaving: Spend 1 Sha-Chi to unleash vicious slashes with deadly grace. Unblockable.
• Special | Baleful Aura: Hits build the gauge; when it fills, damage dealt and Sha-Chi Depletion increase, and combos hurl the axes to latch onto enemies and slice them. The gauge empties when the effect ends.
• Soul Tempering | Tiansha Twin Calamities: The aura gains a second tier, filling on past the first. At two full tiers, combos, [Baleful Barrage] and [Heart-Rending Strike] are all enhanced and the aura's duration refreshes.

Heartpiercer kept watch before the White Serpent House, an elite of the Shadow Wardens; those cut by the spinning axes died of a gut wound, and the name stuck to him. He wore blue-green robe and coat, and in a fight the cloth spread like a moth's wings while his footwork stayed light — after many exchanges, not a speck of dust on him.
